Geek Out with These Books Like Bill The Vampire Epub

Long before Twilight was published, Anne Rice was creating her own legacy. This first book in the popular Vampire Chronicles was published in 1976, and was one of the first books to imagine vampires through a relatable and empathetic lens, rather than harbingers of pure evil. Interview with the Vampire focuses on Louis, a fledgling vampire who is seeking out others of his kind to better understand who or what he has become. There are 13 books in the series, and this first installment was adapted into a star-studded movie of the same name, featuring Tom Cruise, Brad Pitt, and Kirsten Dunst.

Terry was not only a master at reflecting true human nature and touch upon many current issues within his Discworld novels but also a true wordsmith. Thoroughly entertaining, filled with an array of wonderful characters but now also, just when I thought his books could not get any better, vampires. This book has one of my all-time favourites characters in it namely Granny Weatherwax, the best witch that ever lived. She and her fellow witches and a befuddled priest take on the bloodsuckers who threaten the peaceful town of Lancre but be aware you will find yourself laughing out loud while reading this or any other of the disc world novels and incurring worried glances from the strangers around you. A great series to chase away the blues.

I discovered the All Souls Series by Deborah Harkness years ago and had to wait for each book to come out before I could finish the series. I wish the series was longer and suffered a serious book hangover. This is the reason why I started searching for books like A Discovery of Witches.

The Owens women have a centuries-old curse that started with Maria Owens in the 1600s. With her amazing ability to weave a story, Alice Hoffman has once again written a book that captured my heart on the first page. Part historical fiction and part love story, this book had everything that I wanted from a prequel. This historical fantasy book was a must for books like A Discovery of Witches.

This is when the real story begins. In order to stay safe as an English woman in Scotland, she must depend on Jamie Frasier for protection. Amazing history, magical realism, romance, and witches overflow in this iconic epic saga that is a perfect pick for books like A Discovery of Witches.

I read this book in only a few days because I loved it so much. This is another book that I read this month that is perfect for fans of Outlander and is a perfect pick for books like A Discovery of Witches.

My initial turn-off of too many names/places/tribes/species types was quickly overcome by the insane world-building. I cannot wait for the next book to come out. The epic nature of this book made it a must for books like A Discovery of Witches.

Hardt is a #1 New York Times, #1 USA Today, and #1 Wall Street Journal bestseller. If you like high-stakes (no pun intended) vampire stories that are steamy and emotionally complex, Undefeated will suck you in.

If you like your hot paranormal romance woven into deep world building and legendarium, this is the 13-book series for you. The first three Dark Stranger books focus on the relationship of immortal Kian and Syssi, a possible descendant of the gods. Scottish vampire Kian is reluctant to even meet Syssi at first, but once they come into contact, the fireworks are undeniable.

Though it's a fairly subtle difference, Bill Compton from The Southern Vampire Mysteries series did not originally share the same full name as his HBO television show counterpart. On True Blood, the vampire's full name was William Thomas Compton. However, in the Harris novel series, it's originally said to be William Erasmus Compton, but in the second book Living Dead in Dallas, his middle name has changed to Thomas. It's just about enough to give an old vampire like Bill an identity crisis.

While initially frightened when she is first given to Bill, after her transformation Jessica is thrilled to be free of her strict god-fearing family. The two have a father/daughter relationship throughout the series with Bill ultimately giving her away at her wedding before he meets the true death. In the novels the character does not exist in any form nor does Bill have a vampire daughter at any point in the books.

Though it's never explored or even used as a plot in the HBO series, Vampire Bill of the Charlaine Harris novels is the creator of an extensive vampire database that contains valuable information that's only accessible to vampires. The database holds any and all significant details on all vampires in North America. It's also noted that vampires in other parts of the world like Peru have provided their info for the system as well. Additionally, the database is considered to be controversial due to security concerns. It's a far leap from the True Blood series character who at most seems to enjoy some of modern technology's entertainment like his Wii system, but never ventured into anything remotely similar.

Within the True Blood world, as well as the Charlaine Harris novel's, many characters only exist within their own universe never venturing beyond the pages of The Southern Vampire Mysteries or the small screen. One of the many characters to only exist within the confines of the books is the vampire Judith Vardamon. Just like in the television series Lorena is Bill's maker that holds a strong obsession for him.

The below vampire books are inventive, and often believable, with an array of authors creating their own evocative series that give depth to the blood-thirsty. We've found some of the most celebrated vampire books, from romance and horror, to fantasy classics and young adult novels, that will send a chill down your spine and have you turning those pages faster than you can say "Team Edward or Team Jacob?" To continue your paranormal binge-read, check out books featuring witches and werewolves next. Regardless of which book you choose, you may want to consider sleeping with the lights on.

Okay, you're in for a ride if you start this beloved series because it has a whopping 27 books. Anita Blake is St. Louis's fiercest vampire huntress, but an assignment to solve the mystery behind a slew of killings forces her to confront her feeling for her nemesis, vampire leader Jean-Claude.

Bill isn't exactly average, though. A vampire like him hasn't been seen in centuries. He's got a few tricks up his sleeve, unlikely allies, and an attitude problem that makes him too damn obnoxious to quit.

[36] Reliance on genre is another important economic factor. It provides a cross-over appeal for White audiences, while simultaneously allowing access for Black talent. The success ofBlacula, for example, created a demand for more Black horror films. Though it resulted in a proliferation of low-budget, problematic films like Blackenstein (William Levey 1973); it also provided the opportunity for Bill Gunn to make Ganja and Hess. Gunn was asked if he had a Black script about vampires. Though he did not, he quickly conceived what is now considered one of the best Black directed films of all-time.

Silver in the Wood author Emily Tesh returns to bookstores this summer with Drowned Country, the sequel to her 2019 novella about the Wild Man of Greenhollow. When Henry is called home by his mother, he and Tobias journey to the ancestral Silver house, where a vampire-infused mystery is afoot.

Rachel Mariana Morgan is more of an ass-kicker than Sookie Stackhouse. But the series has many similarities. The supernatural is out to the world, there are vampires and other magical creatures. But it has more focus on magic than the Stackhouse books.

Most writers build careers steadily, maybe starting with a novel or a string of short stories, but you seemed to burst fully formed onto the horror scene around 2007, with Ghost Road Blues and nonfiction books like The Cryptopedia.

At first glance, Crave certainly exudes Twilight vibes. Thanks to the similar concept of the book cover, plenty of people are asking: is Crave like Twilight? Both books fall under the YA vampire fiction genre with certainly lots of thrills, adventure, and romance.

This novel is certainly one of the books to read if you like Twilight but with a murder-mystery twist. Asides from the blood and gore elements of it, readers should be warned that it depicts scenes of attempted rape and sexual assault. As such, it may not be the easiest read for most. However, its gorgeously rich world-building continues to draw readers in. 2ff7e9595c
